Wedding Date – Saturday 11th August 2018
On Saturday 11th August 2018, Steph and Sam, tied the knot. It was very exciting working with them both as Steph and Sam both lived in London which made it even more detailed, planning their wedding was wonderful. Steph first enquired with us on 15th January 2017 and quickly made an appointment to view The Old Vicarage. They knew it was the place they wanted to say their vows to each other, so they secured their wedding with us on 18th January 2017. We were over the moon and couldn’t wait to begin the process of planning their wedding.
When we first got a glimpse of Steph before the ceremony, we were completely in ore of how exquisite she looked. The simplicity of the dress from Frances Day Bridal made Steph look effortlessly gorgeous, with the intricate detail around the waist and down the back of the dress adding that extra touch of elegance. Frances Day never fail to amaze us, especially when they are literally a few meters up the road! At The Vicarage we love supporting local suppliers, we are so thankful that they are amazing at what they do.
Steph and Sam opted to use our gorgeous bandstand for their ceremony. They knew from the very beginning that it was a risky decision choosing an outdoor ceremony due to the unpredictable English weather… But it was definitely a risk worth taking as it was the perfect sunny day. The additional touch of a decorative arch, created by Flowers On Main Street, framed the bride and groom beautifully as they said, “I do”. As guests started to arrive at 12:30pm for a 1:30pm ceremony, the sun was beaming down creating a beautiful ambience; the team couldn’t wait to invite everyone up to the outdoor ceremony. We are very lucky to have something so picturesque… literally in our back garden.
Steph’s reaction, to seeing all of her guests waiting for her arrival and Sam standing nervously at the end of the aisle, was heart warming to see. The wonderful Vyne String Quartet accompanied her down the aisle, we find there is something really special and personal about having live music throughout your ceremony.
Photographer Barney Walters captured Steph and Sam’s special moments perfectly throughout the day. It was such a pleasure working with him.
After the ceremony we greeted the newly weds and their guests with a selection of Prosecco, Corona or Fentimans for the non-drinkers. The Reception drinks were enjoyed in our stunning garden along with a selection of delicious canapés.
Salt and pepper chicken skewer with sweet plum sauce
Peeled tiger prawns with iberico chorizo sausage and lime
Local asparagus spear and camembert wrapped in parma ham
Sticky pressed pork with bourbon smoked BBQ glaze and apple slaw
Kayleigh Tarrant did an amazing job with the stationery, the neutral colours and detail really complimented The Vicarage style… so beautifully simple, yet so effective. Steph and Sam chose to name their tables after memorable places, this is a really nice way to personalise their wedding breakfast tables. The centre pieces, also created by Flowers on Main Street, were a wonderful finishing touch to the room…it looked truly beautiful.
Steph and Sam chose scrumptious options for their wedding breakfast menu.
Air-dried heritage tomato bruschetta with buffalo mozzarella, green basil pesto, rocket leaf and parma ham
Glazed beef short rib with creamed potato, pea puree, Madeira jus, finished with crisp shallot rings
Pea and mint risotto with pea shoots, goats cheese beignet and crispy leeks.
The Vicarage Boutique Eton mess, seasonal fruits, crisp meringue and Chantilly cream
‘A Pizza Your Heart’ – A selection of chef’s choice artisan, thin and crispy rustic pizzas.
Studio Chocolate created an artistic masterpiece with this towering chocolate sensation for Steph and Sam. It looked delicious!
Pan-N-Ice joined us for the day of Sam and Steph’s wedding, creating homemade ice cream rolls in front of the guests’ eyes. They had a choice of four flavours; we can honestly say that they went down a treat. Both our lovely Bride and Groom got stuck into the fun as they were given the opportunity to create their very own ice cream rolls, as did many of the guests. Pan-N-Ice really succeeded in creating such a playful and unique element to their wedding.
The Bride and Groom danced the night away underneath the sparkling chandeliers. The dance floor was full throughout the whole evening with family and friends coming together to create the perfect ending to the perfect day. What an amazing atmosphere!
It was such a pleasure working with Steph and Sam and meeting their lovely friends and family. We wish them all the best for their future together. Thank you so much for this amazing review!
“We recently got married at the Vicarage in August. The weather was absolutely perfect which was a surprise given that the day before and after was torrential rain!! From the minute we arrived everything went perfectly, and we felt so calm and comfortable despite it being such a big day! The outdoor ceremony was amazing and everyone commented how lovely it was to be outdoors, with lots of space for us to use for photos, canapés and drinks. We wanted an intimate wedding with all of our closest friends and family ( 66 for the day) and that is exactly what we got. I honestly never had to worry about logistics as I knew the team had everything covered, which took a huge weight off my shoulders during the build up and on the day of the wedding. The food was delicious from the canapés all the way to the evening Pizzas. There was also a brilliant range of cocktails, and lots of espresso martinis were ordered!! I can’t thank the venue and all of the staff enough for making our wedding so amazing. Our photos show how beautiful the day was, and how much fun everyone had from when they arrived, all the way through to the end of the night! We can’t thank you enough! Steph & Sam xxx”
