Wedding Date – Saturday 6th August 2016
The first time we met Simone and Tom we knew their wedding would be something special, we suddenly found ourselves very excited about hosting this Italian summer wedding.
We always eagerly anticipate having a new photographer at The Old Vicarage, photographs are such an important aspect of a wedding day and we always love to see how each photographers capture their special day. During a wedding day we are so busy on the finer details and coordinating the day that we rarely notice the photographer which is a great attribute for a photographer to have, it was a pleasure having Lee Garland Photography working along side us. The moment that we receive that email from a photographer with a wedding album is a real delight. Lee Garland Photography looked at the venue in such a way we never knew existed, we were completely blown away! The pictures speak for themselves!
It was really important for Simone to ensure that her wedding displayed Italian traditions and it was a pleasure being on hand to encourage and support her throughout the wedding planning. Simone decided to use wonderful suppliers, a few of them who had never been to The Old Vicarage. Through Tom and Simone’s wedding we met the wonderful Pasticceria Lorena, her classic Italian cakes which originated in Simone’s home town were absolutely to die for, each delicacy was so detailed and delicious; the details didn’t stop there, the display of pastries, gateaux and cakes was show stopping. We were so in awe, we immediately added her to our little grey envelope and we are very much looking forward to her returning this summer.
VAAS Florist Nottingham is a supplier which we at The Old Vicarage have always wanted to work with and it was so worth the wait! Their attention to detail and creative flair is impeccable! Simone’s bouquet was phenomenal, by far the biggest bridal bouquet we have ever had at The Old Vicarage. Simone had a small image from pinterest of her dream flowers, which Keith and Marc didn’t fail to recreate! Simone and Tom were one of the first couples to use the band stand in 2016. Our bandstand was hand built for us by the Amish in Pennsylvania, making it one of a kind! The way VAAS Florist Nottingham dressed our bandstand exceeded all of our expectations, enhancing the romance of an outdoor ceremony. VAAS Florist Nottingham dressed both the ceremony and wedding breakfast tables with a breathtaking amount of flowers, they thought of everything even the aromas of the room by carefully positioning small pots of mint underneath the dressed candelabras.
Simone and her bridal party made full use of our exclusivity the night before her wedding day. The evening before they enjoyed prosecco in our garden whilst we put the finishing touches on their tables. Simone, Tom and their family invited us into their wedding day with open arms making us feel so excited about the day ahead! The morning of a wedding is always a little bit hectic, we start to see it all coming together and it is so important to us at The Old Vicarage that everyone is set up for the day… Full English’s all round! Simone chose James White as her bridal hair stylist and again we couldn’t be more delighted, he was so efficient and accommodating whilst Simone enjoyed the morning of her summer wedding knowing everything was taken care of. Simone’s hair was styled so elegantly and classic, complimenting her beautiful lace dress! It is always so important that hair and makeup work well along side each other, and James White and Bernadette at Pure Hair & Beauty did this so effortlessly! Bernadette at Pure Hair & Beauty was an absolute pleasure to have at The Old Vicarage. Bernadette at Pure Hair & Beauty made Simone and her bridal party look flawless and radiant, glowing throughout the day.
It was very special having Louise – Nottingham Harpist playing Simone down the aisle to Tom. Louise also stayed to play during the reception drinks. We often ask Louise – Nottingham Harpist to attend our open days, she is a great to work with and the harp just adds such a delicate and goose bumpy element to the day!
The menus choices which Tom and Simone chose for their wedding breakfast went down a treat, it is very difficult trying to please all of your wedding guests however we managed to do just that with the choice of canapés and meals!
