Behind The Scenes: Lorna Luxe x The Old Vicarage brand launch event

This spring, we hosted our most high-profile event to date - partnering with industry leader Lorna Luxe to support upcoming launches from her platform, L.A - SPACE, alongside cult-favourite rosé, Lady A.

Intimate, boutique weddings are, and will always be, at the heart of our business. But as our space and style continue to evolve, we’re excited and grateful to collaborate with creatives on an ever-growing spectrum of events.

If you’ve been following along on our journey, you’ll know that wellness retreats and creative shoots have opened our venue to more incredible clients across Nottinghamshire and beyond. But this spring marked a new milestone: our biggest event yet.

We had the pleasure of welcoming iconic content creator Lorna Luxe - whose 1.4 million followers tune in daily for her fashion finds, beauty picks, and characteristically sharp humour. Her team approached us with a vision: a brand activation to celebrate new launches from her platform, L.A - SPACE, and her partnership with GHOST by Lady A. Naturally, we said yes.

Held on a bright, April afternoon, we spent weeks working with local wedding planners and stylists, Two Oak Events, who helped create a concept and mood for the space. Together, we created a brief that felt romantic while contemporary, and fitting for an affair which would bring together both socialising with friends, and networking with new faces. Think textured vases filled with sculptural arrangements of pale pink and cream-toned roses alongside luxurious product displays complemented with blush-tinted gift boxes. Held on a bright April afternoon, we spent weeks collaborating with local planners and stylists, Two Oak Events, to shape the creative direction. Together, we developed a brief that was romantic yet contemporary - an atmosphere suited to both meaningful connection and elegant celebration.

Think sculptural arrangements of cream and blush-toned roses, tactile vases, and curated displays with blush-hued gift boxes. All of it set against a backdrop of pearly draping from the talented team at Drap'd.

Drapery is something of a signature at The Old Vicarage - a simple but transformative technique we often encourage couples and clients to embrace. For this event, Drap'd created something truly special: sweeping, soft fabric that framed the space in a way that felt indulgent, modern, and full of character.

Guests made the most of the glorious sunshine, spilling out onto our patio and gardens where the atmosphere quickly came to life. The outdoor spaces were filled with warmth - not just from the weather, but from the sound of conversation and easy laughter. With glasses of chilled rosé in hand and fresh, seasonal canapés being passed around, it felt like a true moment of pause and connection.

There was something especially moving about watching women gather in a space that felt open, comfortable, and entirely their own celebrating another woman’s success. As the afternoon unfolded, it became a reminder of how rare - and important - it is to create environments where women can simply enjoy themselves, without expectation or performance. Spaces where conversations run deep, laughter comes easily, and presence feels enough.

Inside, the GHOST wine tower served as a striking centrepiece, offering guests a beautiful moment of refreshment between conversations. But it was in the garden, under the sun, where so many meaningful moments seemed to take shape - unstructured, unhurried, and fully shared.

Special memories were also beautifully captured by Oak & Scribble, who illustrated live throughout the afternoon - offering guests a completely unique and personal memento to take home. Socialising only paused briefly for the sit-down panel, which featured invaluable fashion and business insights from Lorna herself, alongside personal shopper and stylist Cleo Lacey Edwards. The conversation was expertly guided by Charlie Herman, Creative Director of Lady A and co-founder of  L.A - SPACE and No. 98 Beauty. We were also delighted to be joined by Lorna’s husband, John, whose presence added to the sense of warmth - making the evening feel like a gathering of close friends, sharing stories, advice, and inspiration.

As evening settled in, the space was reimagined once more for a candlelit dinner - intimate, atmospheric, and reflective of the romantic scent at the heart of the event. Chinese cedarwood, amberwood, and soft musks lingered in the air, while rich satin tablescapes and deeply-hued roses echoed the mood.

Final touches came from Studio G, whose bespoke stationery added timeless elegance through personalised menus and name cards. Each guest also received a small envelope with a word of affirmation - something private and uplifting to carry with them beyond the event.

We also had the pleasure of working with Portman Social, who joined us from the start of the day to quietly document the transformation. From the early light shifting across the setup, to more intimate evening moments, she moved through the event with calm and focus.

Her style is observational rather than curated - never staged, never over-produced. The result is a piece of content that feels considered and grounded. A true reflection of the event as it was experienced.

It’s always amazing to see how our space can be completely transformed to reflect and embody a brand’s unique identity. With our adaptable layout and timeless aesthetic, The Old Vicarage serves as a blank canvas - ready to be styled in a way that aligns seamlessly with your brand values, tone, and vision. Whether it’s an intimate product launch, a press dinner, or a curated guest experience, we work closely with each brand to ensure every detail feels authentic and immersive. This flexibility not only brings creative concepts to life, but also allows guests to step into a world that feels truly personal, making each event as memorable as it is meaningful.

We’re lucky enough to not only have a fantastic in-house team, but to be surrounded by a network of local stylists, designers, florists and all-round creatives who really are some of the best in the country. So, watch this space (literally!) and if you're a brand looking to collaborate on tailored events and activations, get in touch.
